Correct choice of Airway wheels is important when polishing. We often get asked about which wheel matches which buff, there are guidelines for this, but, these are only guidelines, and are absolutely able to be changed and modified Usually the harder of the Airway buffs (Orange, Red, Razor Cut and Flame Cut) are used to cut out surface imperfections, sanding marks, staining on the surface etc.

The softer Airway buffs (Pink, Yellow and White) are more so used to promote the shine or colour the surface when you’re polishing. But there are so many systems that people use and variables, that it can be a little confusing. We’ve often given advice on this, and as we say to many people, there are not so much right or wrong ways, just different ways to get the job done, this is always relative to the particular type of finish you’re chasing…is it a flawless show shine…? or are you looking to just put a good shine on the item.
